GOD DOESN’T GIVE A HOLY HOOT!

ISAIAH 55:9


“For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts.” (Is. 55:9)

God doesn’t give a holy hoot about some of the things we get so uptight about here on earth. We need to let the main thing continue being the main thing! Now I enjoy nice things as much as anyone, but somehow those things just don’t mean what they used to. Just let me reach more people for Jesus! Let me bless another missionary! Let me do something to see more souls come to the Lord!

When my wife and I visited the island of Grenada, we had quite an experience. We flew into San Juan and there was no electricity. They had more than eighteen inches of rain in one day and over a million people were without power, but we were able to check into our hotel. After searching around in the dark, we finally found the door to our room and went in. It was so pitch black that after my wife set her purse down, she couldn’t find it again! When we woke up the next morning, we could finally see, because the sun was up. We laughed as I said, “You know honey, Americans are so spoiled. Thank God we have a decent bed to sleep in!” It’s inconvenient when a woman can’t locate her purse, but she finally found it. Some people don’t realize just how blessed they are. In a third world nation, everything’s delayed – if it happens at all!

After Grenada, we flew to Georgetown, Guiana. I’ll never fuss about a rough road again! To me, the whole world looked like the old beat up Toyota we were in. There were even cows in the road – it was something else! Since it was nighttime, I was glad the taxi driver could see better than I could. I prayed, “God, give him x-ray vision!”And then there’s some of the food I’ve seen in other countries. They were just thankful to eat!

God doesn’t see things the way we do. He doesn’t accept someone based on the label of their clothes or the kind of car they drive. He looks at the heart. Are you concerned about the same things He’s concerned about? Are you doing what you know to do with all He’s give you? You can count the seeds in an apple, but you can’t count the apples that come out of a seed. God will cause you to prosper so that you can be a blessing. He’ll prosper you so can help provide for the end-time harvest. That’s what it’s all about! (BN)
